Art by Moonpix Studios (Etsy)
A royal portrait of King Brody, Jonathan’s predecessor. We can see his traumatic, childhood scars under his collar, and on his face he wears Fey, the elaborate ear-cuff that granted him his griffin-ability. Can you find all six animals hidden in the metalwork?

Scenes from A King Shall Rise
Spoiler Alert If You Haven’t Read the Book Yet!
Brody is chased by a Celestial over the beach of Pebble Embark: not a very warm welcome to the dreamworld!
Brody is solemnly crowned king by Josiah and Councilman Isa. Rexus looks on at Josiah’s feet.
Domine, in the form of a mountain bear, saves the king from a Ranker attack!
Brody battles the Ranker of gluttony, also known as “The Fat Man,” in the city of Syranade
Brody meets the enigmatic keeper of the Fortress of the Iron Teeth, Skâlger
In the final battle for Crystalia, Brody and his troops battle a giant quartz machine. Cupped in its palm is the Ranker of pride: the Paragon.
Brody drifts through a daydream—or is it a vision?—in which he sees a young griffin walking beside him. In the background, a unicorn watches, and a strange statue hints at the dreamworld’s darker past.
King Brody sits with his team (from left to right): Domine the titan, Aydran the spunky bard, Khogar the snow leopard tribal, and Abram the fatherly minister.
My Other Artwork
A collage of my main characters’ eyes adjacent to their name meanings. From top to bottom, left to right: Jonathan, Nikki, Tyson, Lia, Ben, Kitty, Kayla, and Nikki.
King Brody’s unicorn companion, Dante, with his sparkly, golden horn!
Jonathan and Nikki lovin’ on each other.
A companion artwork to the one above, showing Nikki and Jonathan giving each other the griffin version of a smooch.
Jonathan, in royal armor, kneels to pray before battle.
A collection of drawings I made for my students, to illustrate important character traits. Each character represents a different trait. Brody—respect, Nikki—responsibility, Josiah—gratitude, Carl—creativity, Kayle—perseverance, Mariah—empathy, Ben—cooperation, Kitty—kindness, Tyson and Lia both—honesty, and Jonathan—courage!
Kayle is the favorite character of many of my readers. It isn’t hard to see why: he’s sassy and gruff, but very loyal to his friends and as noble as any griffin. In this sketch he has a bit of a smolder as he plays a tune on the Irish low whistle.
